This time, we're doing a very extensive review of the Hurricane Vapor E-Liquids!
And because Hurricane Vapor was extra-ordinarily kind enough to send us over 10 different flavors, we're going to be segmenting the Hurricane reviews into bits of three.
Hurricane Vapor is one of the most celebrated gourmet E-Liquid vendors, having universal acclaim and fantastic reviews across the board. Does it stand up to our standards at Good News!

To review the E-Liquids in the order we received them, we'll first be reviewing a number of flavors from the 70PG/30VG line.
It must be said first that we personally enjoy the bottling of the 15ml amounts that were sent to us - the entirely transparent, glass, square bottles, paired with a quite professional labeling, help the appearance stand out in the crowd, and create a confident image in the brand.
However, plowing straight into the flavor review... we won't hold back, these flavors just are not our cup of tea. To sum up the entirety of what will be a very extensive, multi-part review, the liquids all taste quite like the flavoring one may taste in an alcoholic liqour, but without the alcohol... just a clean, odd, and almost "diet flavoring" type flavor that is both watered-down, and yet very heavy-handed in the "tone flavor", at the same time. It is making for an extremely strange vaping experience.
First up is the Sunset Cavendish in 70PG/30VG at 18mg Nicotine.
The Sunset Cavendish has a scent that presents itself has as a smoked, deep, musky honey, almost mesquite in scent, with a beautiful, golden hue to match. And on the website, it is described, however, as a caramel-touched Tobacco. Yet, flavor-wise, the flavor is almost just like the scent, which does not translate well to the taste buds. It comes across as a deep, non-sweetened, mesquite honey mixed with what may be described as the musky taste of a charcoal-wood chip, the type you burn in a campfire... and before they are ignited. There is absolutely no infusion of Tobacco found here, only a few flavor notes that seem as though they are trying to act like Tobacco, yet are both too weak, and just too odd, to give it any sort of that impression.
Quite frankly, it really is sort of a nasty flavor (as nasty as a non-chemical tasting E-Liquid could be) that only stands on it's legs because the ingredients do taste natural, and have no trace of a chemical bite. We just don't know what goal was tried for here, but it doesn't seem accomplished. At worst, this flavor almost reminds one of the lighter fuel one may squeeze and squirt onto pre-packaged, campire wood chips, simply because that's the whole memory found in this flavor. It even has a watered-down tinge in the flavor, a bit like a watery oil. Overall, it's just a really weird blend. To top things off as the final note, it tastes nothing like caramel or Tobacco, and we feel that this blend may have been seriously mislabeled when it really may be the Twilight Cavendish (which is indeed the flavor described, on the website, as being soaked in wood chips).
(Note: We were also sent a replacement bottle of this, as a "try again", and we chose to sample the 50/50 blend this time. The 50/50 blend has a slightly more rounded-off flavor... the same flavor, but a bit softer flavor and a bit fuller vapor. It is ever slightly more pleasurable, but simply just not good.)
Next is the Belgian Simmered.
The Belgian Simmered is described as a dark, toasted Tobacco with Belgian Chocolate elements, and this blend was 70/30, once more, in 18mg. However, like the Sunset Cavendish, the flavors seem both watered-down, too-simple, and yet also heavy-handed in the sheer foundation of the Chocolate. It comes through as a solid, %100 Chocolate flavor, but with a dark, sickly-sweet flavor that seems more like a Chocolate Liquer... something just not right for vaping. There is absolutely no Tobacco found in this E-Liquid, and we have a feeling that any "Tobacco" that Hurricane or other reviewers taste may just be "burning cotton" from RDA's... something that doesn't fool us here at Good News! Burning cotton and dry silica tastes too much like burnt hair, to us, that it doesn't fool us into thinking "Tobacco" when there's no Tobacco flavoring actually in the E-Liquid.
Not only is the Belgian Simmered simply a sickly-sweet Chocolate, it also, for as deep of a flavor the Chocolate is, tastes very watered-down, as though a good portion of H20 is in the mix. It is simply a very strange effect, and is truly not at all very pleasurable. It could never stand up to Halo's Belgian Cocoa, for example. The vapor found here is simply watery, and what's more... with both this and the Sunset Cavendish... there is absolutely no throat hit whatsoever, and 18mg is usually even too much for us. To say this E-Liquid had any nicotine in it almost seems deceptive. The only way that this could possibly match up a Tobacco description is that, buried in the Chocolate, is indeed a pinch of what may be the "Mesquite Wood Chip" flavor buried in the mix. It indeed has just a tiny pinch of what may be intended as a sort of smoked flavor.
Third in the list is the Twilight Cavendish.
This is the blend that is supposed to taste like the Honey-and-Wood-Chip-infused Tobacco, however, we feel that again, it may be a serious bottle mistake. This blend comes across as an inmistakable blend of rum. There's a rum flavor that overall seems a bit watered-down and extremely smooth, and there are no notes here that make it pleasurable. No Tobacco, nothing that can really be described other than what might be a dark, fruity rum blend. It, like the others, is a bit liquer-like without any throat hit whatsoever, even at 18mg and 70/30. How Hurricane relates these flavors to the descriptions is really beyond us, and how they relate to tobacco has us even more puzzled.
Overall, these flavors seem highly misleading, and we would not recommend purchasing the Tobacco line, as it is. Not only are there no Tobacco elements in our samples, some of the E-Liquids seem entirely misbottled, matching the descriptions of totally different E-Liquids listed on the website, as well as being starkly different in color, smell, and flavor. There is also no throat hit to these liquids whatsoever, and this will not please anyone looking for even any trace of throat hit.
We still have many Hurricane flavors to review, and the upcoming reviews will be focused more on the Fruit Flavors, and just a couple more Tobaccos. We will keep you posted, though the results just, by far, are some of the strangest we've experienced. We will say that Hurricane Vapor was extremely kind to send us over 10 flavors, all in 15ml bottles, and we wanted to love these E-Liquids more than anything.
But it's times like this that make us wonder what in the world some vendors are tasting, and in the case of Tobacco Flavors, if many users are sense "Tobacco" only from the taste of a rather dry wick. We certainly keep our wicks very wet here... no pun intended! And the clarity that comes through in our tests, because of that, may just be what is exposing many E-Liquids as just not up to scratch.
If you'd like to experiment with Hurricane Vapor's E-Liquids, please stop by their website, here!
