We were just sent a trio of E-Liquids from RocketFuel Vapes, and we've been interested in reviewing these liquids for some time!
What really catches the eye with RocketFuel Vapes is the homage to golden-days graphic design, both on the website and bottles, and clear, crisp professionalism conveyed in the brand. However, we want to see if the liquids are truly just as high quality as the image this brand is promoting! Read more!

To start off, the RocketFuel E-Liquids come in dark, amber plastic bottles with quite difficult child-safety caps - this is always good news toward any fears of children getting into the bottles. However, what's more difficult is actually squeezing the E-Liquid from the bottle! These little bottles are extremely tough to squeeze, you really have to wrestle with them to even barely start to fill your atomizer... it can get really annoying, there's no lie.
Other than that, the E-Liquids come with a nice little RocketFuel drink coaster, which can be used to set bottles or batteries or anything on. It makes a nice little touch and feels like more of a complete package!
Down to business, however, we're reviewing three of the liquids, all in 18mg Nicotine, to see if the flavor and mixology really stand out in the crowd. We're reviewing Harley's Blend Tobacco, Ol' River Tobacco, and Country Bumpkin, a pumpkin E-Liquid.
First up, we have Harley's Blend. This E-Liquid claims to blend together flavors of black walnut, pipe tobacco, honey, and rum. We expected a full-flavored blend that would really remind us of pipe tobacco, and we were indeed let down. The flavor comes through as a light rum base, with atomic tinges of what may be mere hints of a pipe tobacco or spice base, and that is with using the imagination. The liquid is simply an extremely light, pale rum blend. At 18mg, what's also surprising is the throat hit is non-existent, which is also a bummer, and the only real "feel" to the vapor is a slight "hot" tinge (an ever-so-slight acidic bite) and a cloying, almost syrupy feel to the throat after inhaling.
However, it must be said that this blend does not taste bad. It's by far not an all-day-vape, and quite far from what one would be interested in buying or even vaping. It's simply pale, thin, and just not flavorful. There's a tongue-tip of rum, and miniscule hints of what may be a pipe tobacco or spice, not prominent enough to even truly taste. It's an almost candy-like blend. It simply does not taste bad, and that's the credit here. The biggest positive is that the blend is very thin and smooth, a blend that wicks fantastically on a simple atomizer. No dry hit to be found; it wicks as well as the liquids from Johnson Creek.
Next is the Ol' River Tobacco. Just like the Harley's Blend, we're again let down. The description on the website is of tobacco, brown sugar, and forresty notes. What we get instead is overall a thin flavor, but that of a nutmeg, and something that's either slightly floral or slightly mentholated. It simply is nowhere near the description, and though the flavor is, again, not "bad", there's really nothing "good" about this blend. It tastes like someone sprinkled some nutmeg in some Propylene Glycol. It's just not accurate.
Like the Harley's Blend, the Ol' River does wick very well, and overall, does not have a chemical taste. The liquids from Rocket Fuel do taste very clean and organic so far.
Third is the Country Bumpkin, which is a pumpkin flavor with supposed layers of pie crust, nutmeg, spices, and such and forth. However, in our tests, we're getting an extremely stout, bitter, extremely dark, and almost gagging nutmeg/pumpkin flavoring, which may also be the flavor of pumpkin extract when it is too concentrated. This liquid simply tastes like a pumpkin-scented perfume oil that one would put in a Glade wall plug. It is very bitter, chemically, and much like if one would drink a pumpkin perfume. It does not have overtly chemical taste that one would find in a chemical cleanser; it's slightly more organic than that. But it simply tastes like either the pumpkin or nutmeg is concentrated a hundred times what one needs in an E-Liquid. It by far does not taste good, and the concentrated effect is far from anything light or creamy; it tastes extremely dark and bitter.
It simply tastes like there's a severe mistake in the brew.
Overall, RocketFuel Vapes' liquids did not impress us so far, in any manner other than, at large, there's no chemical taste (the liquids do seem to taste organic), and that they do wick extremely well, being quite thin blends.
What has to be said, is like many companies, RocketFuel Vapes seems to need to focus on bringing actual tobacco-type flavors into the "tobacco" vapes (a "tobacco" shouldn't taste like pure PG or VG), and to truly bring a creaminess into favors such as pumpkin or brown sugar. These blends simply do not taste professionally blended, though we have indeed had worse. The Harley's Blend is perhaps the best of the three, but would not in any real situation be worth $6.50 (or around $10, for shipping.)
All in all, blends such as this can be forgiven with companies that do offer refund policies, but sadly, RocketFuel does not have such policies. We did receive these liquids free-of-charge, but no matter what, we have to be honest with the outcome, and hold products to a professional level. Overall, there's simply not much about the RocketFuel liquids that bring any positives to the table that any vaper may want (flavor, throat hit, accuracy, ect ect), and the only positives are that some of the flavors do taste rather organic, and do wick very well.
We want to thank RocketFuel Vapes for sending us these three flavors, and though these E-Liquids simply aren't our cup of tea, it can be said once again that this seems to be a company who's flavors do not have a chemical twang - this is very important to many vapers!
